ANSWER

He taught me how to put my goals in writing and how to achieve them. He never said there wasn’t something I couldn’t do so I grew up believing anything was possible. And it is if you believe it is.

QUESTION

Allan: Tell us please about your wife, Barbara, how do you manage to work together so much time?

ANSWER

Barbara is the CEO of our company, and she’s the powerhouse behind everything we do. When we first decided to work together over 25 years ago, we made a plan to take the roles that were most suited to us and not to overlap.

QUESTION

Allan and Barbara: If you could pass on just one piece of advice to your children, what would it be?

ANSWER

Strive to be the best person you can be – but do it for yourself, not for others. While today’s life is in fact, one huge competition with others, the true measure of your worth as a person is how well you are doing against yourself, not against others.

QUESTION

Allan: Everyone considers you as a worldwide expert in sales, relationships and communication. Tell us who taught you this skill and how long have you studied?

ANSWER

When I was 8 years old my father, who was an insurance salesman, would take me with him when he would go out collecting premiums. The strategy was, there would always be women at home and a man on his own had trouble getting in, but with a young boy at the door, they always invited you in for a cup of tea. Rather than studying homework I’d sit around watching my father presenting. He’d tell me if the price is too high, they’ll move back and put their hand on their face or on their head; if they’re interested they’ll lean forward and ask a question. I thought everybody did this. When I started selling rubber sponges door to door at the age of 10, and later when I joined the life insurance business as the youngest salesman ever to sell $1 million worth of insurance, it was a natural fit to teach others the techniques I had learned. I found more and more that I was being asked to give presentations to the sales staff on how to read body language and get more sales. In 1976, I wrote the book Body Language and haven’t stopped researching, observing and speaking around the world since then. So you could say that I’ve studied body language in one form or another all my life.

QUESTION

Allan: What did Allan Pease dream of in his youth? How many dreams have you made in life? What dreams you have now?

ANSWER

Goals have always formed a really important part of my life. Barbara and I both keep separate and shared lists of goals. We make a habit of re-reading them and refining them constantly. Goal setting is how we have achieved everything from running an international business to writing a best seller, to getting a black belt in Jujitsu. In our new book The Answers (to be released in 2016) Barbara and I share the knowledge and wisdom we’ve collected over our lifetime to help people reach their goals and be successful in their lives. We’re really excited about this new book, it’s been something we’ve been working on for years.

QUESTION

Allan: You became a million dollar seller at young age. Can you please tell us few techniques you used then?

ANSWER

The most important part of any personal encounter is to sell yourself first. Whether it’s in business or in private life. So your immediate focus should be on selling yourself before you sell your ideas, concepts or products. If people buy you, they will buy what goes with you. If they don’t buy you, they won’t buy anything that goes with you, even if it’s a good idea. So sell yourself first.

QUESTION

Barbara: What are your wishes to all readers of your books, and in particular women.

ANSWER

For all women to understand that Men and Women are different not better or worse, just different. And if you understand this difference and have stratagies to manage the differences both your business and personal lives will become very happy and profitable. DON’T TRY AND CHANGE THE OPPOSITE SEX. IT WON’T WORK. ALWAYS USE YOUR INSTINCTS ABOUT BODY LANGUAGE - AS A WOMAN YOU ARE GREAT AT IT.

QUESTION

Allan: If there was one thing you have done that you would recommend other dads not do what would that be?

ANSWER

Most new Dads make a point of telling everyone that when they have children, they will be well-mannered and disciplined angels, not like some of those out-of-control pyscho kids they’ve seen running wild in supermarkets. The reality is that you’ll get what nature gives you and have to manage them as best you can. You’ll likely end up being the father you currently hope you don’t sit near on a plane.
